Update

by Kerrie on Nov.15, 2006, under Baby, Kerrie

Not too much exciting has happened since I last wrote so I’ll give an update on Allie. Allie is now 18 months and she went to nursery last Sunday for the first time. She has become very clingy lately so I was in there with her the entire time. She had fun and especially enjoyed snack time and bubble time. Can you believe there are four nurseries in our ward with approximately 10 children each? That’s 40 kids between the ages of 18 months and 3. Our ward is full of young families.

Allie is getting her top two canines in. I think these have been the worst for her. She has been throwing tantrums left and right and cries for no good reason. They are almost through, but unfortunately she has two more on the bottom that will surely come soon after. I’m looking forward to when all her teeth are in. She is so much more pleasant to be around when those sharp little buggers aren’t bothering her.

Allie is learning new things everyday. She knows about 1/4 of the alphabet and know almost all the numbers between 0 and 9. She tries to say new words daily. She loves her Elmo DVD’s as well as her Baby Einstien DVD’s and insists on watching them all day long. Of course, I don’t let her…but that’s when the tantrums come in. I’m so tempted a lot of the time to give in and let her watch the DVD’s so I don’t have to hear her crying. However, Allie does enjoy being outside and loves the swing and slides at the park. We try to go to the park once a day. Boy, she’s spoiled. I don’t think I ever got to go to the park that often. (However, that may be because I am the fourth child).

Anyway, life is good. Jake is keeping busy with the PhD program. His birthday is on Sunday so we’re planning something fun this weekend. Feel free to drop a line sometime to wish him a happy 29th birthday. One year left of the twenties. How time flies!

Holy cow, 29 years old. That is almost like living to get your driver’s license twice in a row. Man, maybe you guys can just take it easy for Jake’s b-day and eat some smashed bananas and prune juice.
