Jolly Old St. Nick

Santa is a fun person to look at…from a distance. Allie would smile and point at Santa and say “Sa-sa” at the ward Christmas Party last night but the moment she was within 3 feet of him, she was clinging onto me for dear life. Last year she stared at Santa; this year she would not look at him. I’m just glad I didn’t take her to the mall and pay $30 for a picture of Allie screaming. Hopefully next year it won’t be such a traumatic experience for her.
We had our own family Christmas this morning since we are headed to Utah tomorrow. Allie loved her toy stroller and Elmo doll from Santa. She has been pushing Elmo in the stroller ALL day long. I just put her in bed and she insisted on sleeping with Elmo. When I offered her teddy instead she just pushed it aside and hugged Elmo tightly. Move over teddy bear, here comes Elmo… Anyway, we had an enjoyable morning of gifts and a delicious breakfast.
We won’t have access to the internet while in Utah so our next post won’t be until 2007. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

My kids still won’t even go near Santa. They didn’t even care that he had a candy cane at our Ward Party. So did Allie get the TMX Elmo or a different one?? It’s so fun to get presents for your kids. Matt and I just went on a date to Toys R Us and had so much fun.

It’s not the TMX Elmo but it’s one that talks, sings and moves it’s legs and arms. It was more than half the price of the TMX, which I’m all for.

Cute picture! Porter has yet to ever sit on Santa’s lap. Well, meaning – we’ve never even taken him. He did see Santa in the mall this year and was vaguely interested in him – I think it would have helped if he had a candy cane. Anyway, when we asked him if he wanted to sit on his lap he said a simple “no” and walked away. hmmm. Maybe next year.

Leo’s mom wanted to take Diego to see Santa, but I said no thanks. It’s kind of a strange tradition if you think about it. I’ve seen lots of pictures of kids crying on Santa’s lap. Anywayz, I hope you guys had a fun trip to Utah! Happy New Year!
