My New Camera

by Kerrie on Feb.14, 2008, under Kerrie

I got my new camera, a Nikon D40, last night. I’ve been playing with it all morning. It’s a lot smaller than the D50 and there are things I still need to learn and get used to, but overall, I’m very pleased with it. This time I’m going to put my name and telephone number on it so in case my preggo brain acts up again, an honest person will have the opportunity to return it. After losing something so expensive and precious, however, I don’t think I’ll make the same mistake again.

Here’s one of the first pictures taken with my new camera. I love how blue Allie’s eyes are.

And by the way, Happy Valentines Day! Jake is coming home early to spend some quality time with us tonight and we’re going on a dinner date (w/o Allie) tomorrow evening. We hope you all have a wonderful day!

Allie’s making a card for her Dad.

So glad you got your new camera. Hooray. That is a beautiful picture of Allie. The colors are vibrant. The blue shirt definitely brings out her blue eyes. Have fun on your date. Dave and I are going out with David and Jill to the Melting Pot on the 25th. A sort of belated Valentines’ Day date. But thats OK by me.

Very cute pics! Great job Jake for getting a great camera! Scott would like me to ask you what lens you got….so what lens did you get with that camera? We would like to get more lenses as well as a better flash for our camera. The lighting looks really bad sometimes if we aren’t outside. Anyways, Happy Valentines Day! I hope it was a wonderful day for you guys!

Maran–we just got the standard lens that came with it (18-55mm). An hour after Jake ordered it he realized that we could have purchased another lens with it for a great deal. It was a 55-200mm. We wish we could have got it because it was $100 off. Anyway, I already have a portrait lens (that luckily wasn’t in the other camera bag) and now Jake knows what to get me for future gifts…more camera equipment.

Allie is looking like such a big girl with her new haircut! I love her blue eyes! I’m tempted to buy that camera. What is the difference between the D40 and D50? I guess I can email you some questions.

Allie is so darn cute. I’m glad you got a new camera. We wouldn’t want to miss watching Allie grow up (not to mention a new little one coming soon).

It is great to see you using your camera again. You can’t get the best deal, all of the time…..and it was still a good deal.

Allies eyes remind me of J.R.’s. It’s wierd that we come from the same gene pool.
