Update

A couple of months ago we noticed that Allie’s right eye will turn out for a few seconds when she is extremely tired and/or not focusing on anything in particular. I did some research and found that she has intermittent exotropia strabismus. I worried that she would need glasses, a patch or possibly surgery to correct her eyes. Last week we took her to a pediatric ophthalmologist. He tested her vision with many different tactics and dilated her pupils. He said she has perfect vision and although she does have a minor case of intermittent exotropia, she has great control over her eyes and it will probably go away by age 10. He didn’t recommend any treatment and said he won’t need to see her for another year. It was wonderful news!! We took her to get some ice cream afterwards because she did so well for the doctor. She looked a little scary later in the day when one eye finally came back to normal and the other was still dilated
.
On to other news, I finally decided to get a hair cut. With the heat and humidity just around the corner I needed to chop off my long locks. I was hoping for a drastic change but the stylist played it safe. I probably should have asked her to cut more off…my hair grows so fast. For the price I paid, I’m a little disappointed. The stylist I have used in the past was booked until June though and I couldn’t wait that long.
Jake is extremely busy these days (when is he not busy?). With his comprehensive exams in June, he is starting to feel the stress. He also received a new calling at church. He is now the ward clerk (he was previously assist ward clerk). He is included in every bishopric meeting so that means he is gone Wednesday nights and for a good 6.5 hours on Sunday. He is enjoying working so close with such great men though.
Here I am a week ago with the new do and a big belly. I’m not too fond of this picture but I’ve come to the realization that I’m not going to like any picture of me at this point. Only 4 and a half weeks to go!

You look so good! I hope this doesn’t come out wrong, but you look smaller than you did with Allie. I like your hair cut, too. I’m glad that Allie’s eyes are going to be okay.

You look so cute! You’ll be glad you took pictures of yourself later. It’s fun to tell the kids that that’s them in your tummy. I can’t wait for the little guy to come! And, your hair looks very pretty.

You’re lookin’ great kiddo! We never look the way we think we should. Sorry to hear that your are now officially a calling widow. I think someday soon, our callings won’t involve hours of mindless meetings.
Medical stuff with the babies just causes so much angst. I am happy to hear that all turned out well. You can’t be worrying too much, with my nephew coming and all.
Lots of love,
Greg

I think you look great! It looks like all belly, and a small one at that. Love the hair too. That’s interesting that Allie has a form of strabismus. I’m glad it is mild and will probably correct itself. (I’m sure you know that Ella had the congenital esotropia strabismus.) The dialated eyes are always a little trippy to see (especially on light blue eyes) – funny that one eye went back to normal and the other one stayed for a while!
